The Descendants (2011)

Directed by Alexander Payne, Matt is an indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future when his wife suffers a boating accident off of Waikiki. Matt takes his daughters on a trip from Oahu to Kauai to confront the real estate broker, who was having an affair with Elizabeth before her misfortune, The event leads to a rapprochement with his young daughters while Matt wrestles with a decision to terms of her living will she must be disconnected from life support.

The film follows Wood in his quest for film greatness as he writes and directs turkey after turkey, cross-dresses, and surrounds himself with a motley crew of Hollywood misfits, outcasts, has-beens, and never-weres. an inane bit of dialogue from the hilariously at times side-splittingly funny; at others, tragic or even frightening — and a heartfelt tribute to the love of movies,  good and bad.

Karan Arjun(1995)

Directed by Rakesh Roshan, Durga is a widowed woman who raises her two sons, Karan and Arjun. Their father was murdered by his evil brother Durjan. Durjan kills Karan and Arjun when he learns that they are to inherit the money their dying grandfather is leaving behind. Durga cannot accept the death of her sons. She prays to Goddess Kali to bring her sons back to life. Durjan and his family often immitate her prayers and constantly remind her that her sons were killed. Durga’s prayers are answered when Karan and Arjun are reborn – however, they are born into different families and have no knowledge of their previous lives.

Junior (1994)

Directed by Ivan Reitman, Dr. Hess, a medical researcher working on a revolutionary drug to help mothers carry endangered infants to term. Twins (1988)

Directed by Ivan Reitman, Julius and Vincent are the results of an experiment that would allow for the perfect child. Julius was planned and grows to athletic proportions. Vincent is an accident and is somewhat smaller in stature. Vincent is placed in an orphanage while Julius is taken to a south seas island and raised by philosophers. Julius discovers that he has a brother and begins looking for him. Vincent is a low life and is about to be killed by loan sharks.

Queen Margot (1994)

Directed by Patrice Chéreau, Based on a true story, Young Queen Margot finds herself trapped in an arranged marriage amidst a religious war between Catholics and Protestants. Margot is an heiress to the throne during the late 16th century reign of King Charles IX, a time when Protestants and Catholics are vying for political control of France. Catherine decides to make an overture of good will by offering up Margot in marriage to prominent Protestant King Henri of Navarre, although she also schemes to bring about the notorious St. Bartholomew’s Day massacre of 1572, when tens of thousands of Protestants are slaughtered.

Tremors (1990)

Directed by Ron Underwood, A small  isolated town gradually becomes aware of a strange creature desolate town of Perfection, Nevada is infested with gigantic man-eating wormlike creatures that live below ground. The slightest vibration caused by movement attract the creatures to attack without warning, exploding out of the ground with jaws opened to swallow with deadly precision. Trapped in their town, the town-folk have no escape.

Lake Placid (1999)

The Legend of Drunken Master (1994)

Wild Things (1998)

Knowing (2009)

Aaja Nachle (2007)

Directed by Anil Mehta, Dia is a divorced mom living in New York and must go back to India after she receives news that her guru is on his death bed. When she arrives she finds he is gone and has left her the responsibility of saving and reviving the Ajanta Theater where she used to dance. The problem is that the political officers want it torn down and turned into a shopping mall. The storyline follows Dia and her challenge to stand up for what she believes in and fight the cause to the end.

The American (2010)

Directed by Anton Corbijn, As an assassin, Jack is constantly on the move and always alone. A Fish Called Wanda (1988)

Sliver (1993)

In the Name of the Father (1993)

Directed by Jim Sheridan, Based on a true story, Gerry Conlon, who was wrongfully sentenced to life in prison for an IRA terrorist attack that killed four people. As if a forced confession weren’t enough injustice, the police work to implicate Conlon’s father in the same crime. He spends 15 years in prison with his father trying to prove his innocence.

Children of a Lesser God (1986)

The Ledge (2011)
