Ted (2012)

Directed by Seth MacFarlane, A story centered on a man and his teddy bear, who comes to life as the result of a childhood wish. John Bennett is a perfectly normal Boston native whose childhood wish for his teddy bear to come to life comes true. The bear, Ted, remains his best friend from the age of 8 into his adulthood. Twenty-five years later, conflict emerges when Ted’s irresponsible and vulgar slacker lifestyle comes in the way of John’s attempt to embrace adulthood and his love-interest Lori.

People Like Us (2012)

As their relationship develops, Sam is forced to rethink everything he thought he knew about this family–and re-examine his own life choices in the process.

The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) (2011)

Directed by Tom Six, Inspired by the fictional Dr. Heiter, disturbed loner Martin dreams of creating a 12-person centipede and sets out to realize his sick fantasy. Martin is a mentally disturbed loner who lives with his mother in a bleak housing project. He works the night shift as a security guard in an equally grim and foreboding underground parking complex. To escape his dreary existence, Martin loses himself in the fantasy world of the cult horror film The Human Centipede (First Sequence), fetishizing the meticulous surgical skills of the gifted Dr. Heiter, whose knowledge of the human gastrointestinal system inspires Martin to attempt the unthinkable.

The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009)

Directed by Tom Six, A mad scientist kidnaps and mutilates a trio of tourists in order to reassemble them into a new “pet”– a human centipede, created by stitching their mouths to each others’ rectums. In Germany, they end up alone at night with a broken car in the woods. They search for help and find an isolated villa. The next day, they awaken to find themselves trapped in a terrifying makeshift basement hospital along with a Japanese man. An older German man identifies himself as a retired surgeon specialized in separating Siamese twins. However, his three “patients” are not about to be separated but joined together in a horrific operation. He plans to be the first person to connect people via their gastric systems.

Brave (2012)

Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse. In Scotland a rugged and mythical time, “Brave” features Merida, an aspiring archer and impetuous daughter of royalty. Eating Out: The Open Weekend (2011)

Directed by Q. Allan Brocka, Zack and his new boyfriend Benji are setting off to vacation at an all-male resort in Palm Springs with their friend Lily. Benji has proposed that he and Zack open up their relationship, just for the weekend. He’s not ready to limit himself sexually and explains that this will be a good way for them to explore together. Zack is less than thrilled with the idea, but he’s eager to keep Benji happy after all, At the same time, Zack’s ex, Casey, is making his way to the same resort with his hag-in-training, Penny. Knowing that Zack will be there with his new boyfriend, Casey immediately goes into panic mode, recruiting his new friend, Peter, to be his pretend boyfriend for the weekend.

Eating Out: Drama Camp (2011)

Directed by Q. Allan Brocka, There’s no shortage of drama or camp in the fourth installment of Q. Allan Brocka’s hilarious Eating Out series. Zack and Casey’s relationship is in a slump, but things are about to change at Dick Dickey’s Drama Camp. Zack meets gorgeous Benji, and when they get cast as lovers in a sexed-up version of The Taming of the Shrew, their self-restraint is put to the test. Will Zack and Casey’s relationship last with Benji in the picture?

Aimee & Jaguar (1999)

Directed by Max Färberböck, Berlin 1943 (The Battle of Berlin). Felice, an intelligent and courageous Jewish woman who lives under a false name, belongs to an underground organization. Lilly, a devoted mother of four, though an occasional unfaithful wife, is desperate for love. An unusual and passionate love between them blossoms despite the danger of persecution and nightly bombing raids. The Gestapo is on Felice’s trail. Her friends flee, she decides to sit out the war with Lilly.

Soldier’s Girl (2003)

Directed by Frank Pierson, Based on a true story of Barry Winchell, a soldier in the 101st Airborne Division, who was brutally murdered by a fellow GI on July 4th, 1999, shortly after the installment of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. On an outing with his buddies, his fellow soldiers. Winchell’s relationship is frowned upon by the other soldiers and eventually leads to tragedy at the hands of his homophobic roommate. Barry had been captivated by the beautiful Calpernia Adams, a transgendered entertainer in a local Nashville nightclub, and the story focuses on the love that developed between them.

( Glover was later convicted of Winchell’s murder. Fisher was convicted of lesser crimes regarding impeding the subsequent criminal investigation, and both were incarcerated at the United States Disciplinary Barracks. The murder charges against Fisher were dropped and Fisher was sentenced in a plea bargain to 12.5 years, denied clemency in 2003, released to a halfway house in August 2006, and released from custody in October 2006. Glover is serving a life sentence.)

The Truth About Jane (2000)

Directed by Lee Rose, The high school years are full of angst for everyone, but to add to the confusion, Jane gets a serious crush on a girl! The 15-year-old struggles to come to terms with her sexuality as she begins a relationship with this classmate. Things get more complicated when Jane’s lesbian relationship is exposed; her parents aren’t exactly the accepting type. Jane’s troubles starts when her unaccepting mother, Janice, struggles with her surprising revelation of brought forth by her only daughter.

Eating Out 3: All You Can Eat (2009)

Directed by Glenn Gaylord, Tiffani and her friend Casey try to lure the gorgeous Zack with a phony online profile using the image of Tiffani’s buff ex, Ryan… to spark an Internet romance with the hunky Zack, nerdy Casey fudges his online profile by using a photo of his friend Tiffani’s straight — ex-boyfriend Ryan. Great idea … until Ryan appears in the flesh. Mink Stole adds to the shenanigans as Casey’s eccentric but lovable Aunt Helen and Leslie Jordan appears as Casey’s mentor in this wacky comedy of love and lust.

Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds (2006)

Directed by Phillip J. Bartell, After Marc dumps him, Kyle unites with Gwen and Tiffani to land sexually confused art model Troy by pretending to be straight. However, Marc wants Troy, too, and members from a notorious “ex-gay” group are slipping for the both of them. How far would you go to get the person of your dreams? With the help of Gwen and Tiffani, Kyle pretends to be heterosexual to land Troy, the new guy–and nude model–in town, only to find himself joining the campus ex-gay support group and nabbing a girlfriend! Kyle’s ex-boyfriend, Marc, is horrified at the plan and decides to pursue the confused Troy with his own tactic–being his out gay self.

Eating Out I (2004)

Directed by Q. Allan Brocka, Gay man falls for straight man who is pretending to be gay man to win the heart of straight girl in this raunchy and offbeat romantic comedy. Attractive but bitchy college student Gwen shares an apartment with her friend Marc, a gay man with a hyperactive social life. Keeping track of Marc’s lovers has given Gwen a taste for gay men, or at the very least men who look and act gay. Kyle, who is also gay, learns about Gwen’s unique preference at a party also attended by his straight and newly single pal Caleb, who wants to hook up with her. Kyle gets the bright idea that Caleb should pretend to be gay in order to attract Gwen’s attention, but this plan seriously backfires.

Dance, Girl, Dance (1940)

Directed by Dorothy Arzner, While dancing at the Palais Royale in Akron, Ohio, Bubbles, a cynical blonde chorine, and Judy O’Brien, an aspiring young ballerina, meet Jimmy, the scion of a wealthy family. Both women are attracted to Jimmy, a tormented young man who is still in love with his estranged wife Elinor. Back in New York, Bubbles finds work in a burlesque club, while Madame Basilova, the girls’ teacher and manager, arranges an audition for Judy with ballet impresario Steve. En route to the audition, Madame Basilova is run over by a car and killed, and Judy, intimidated by the other dancers, flees before she can meet Steve. As she leaves the building, Judy shares an elevator with Steve, who offers her a cab ride, but she is unaware of who he is and rejects his offer.

The Untouchables (1987)

Rock of Ages (2012)

Q (2011)

Directed by Laurent Bouhnik, In a social context deteriorated by a countrywide economic crisis, the life of several people will be turned upside down after they meet Cecile, a character who symbolizes desire. The young inhabitants were aimless and uncertain about their future employment prospects, while they drifted about searching for love and romance. Cecile had just suffered the death of her father in a hospital. With a lustful desire for sex, she found peace from her underlying sadness through random sexual encounters with both male and female. Part of the story followed the exploits of Alice, who lived at home with her repressively conservative parents, and kept secret her non-committal boyfriend Matt, a local garage mechanic facing tough times.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)

Directed by Karan Johar, Rahul and Anjuli were best friends in college, but their relationship grew stagnant when Anjuli was unable to tell Rahul how much she loved him. In the interim, Rahul met and married Tina. But when Tina dies in childbirth, she leaves her infant daughter a series of letters to read when she grows up,  Through these letters she learns that her mother knew that another Anjali was in love with Rahul, imploring her to find Rahul’s college lover so that he may begin again.

American Beauty (1999)

Directed by Sam Mendes, Lester Burnham’s wife Carolyn, who’s cheating on him, hates him, his daughter Jane regards him with contempt, and his boss is positioning him for the ax – the typical suburban nightmare. When you’ve got nothing to lose, you might as well risk everything. Day of the Evil Gun (1968)

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (2012)

Directed by Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath, Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman are still trying to get back to the Big Apple and their beloved Central Park zoo, but first they need to find the penguins. They travel to Monte Carlo where they attract the attention of Animal Control after gate crashing a party and are joined by the penguins, King Julian and Co., the monkeys and a new arrival: a performing llama. How do a lion, zebra, hippo, giraffe, four penguins, two monkeys, three lemurs and a llama go through Europe without attracting attention and find their way back home?

1911 Revolution (2011)

Directed by Jackie Chan and Li Zhang, Based on the founding of the Republic of China when nationalist forces led by Sun Yat-sen overthrew the Qing Dynasty. The year 1911, as the Chinese public begins to revolt against the Qing dynasty that has ruled the country for 250 years. Realizing that the only hope for the future is for China to take up arms and topple the Qing dynasty, Huang enters into an epic battle that threatens devastating consequences for the common people.

Philadelphia (1993)

Directed by Jonathan Demme, Andrew has AIDS and is fired by a conservative law firm because of his condition, he hires a homophobic small time lawyer as the only willing advocate for a wrongful dismissal suit. Andrew is a young up-and-coming lawyer who has just been fired by his prestigious law firm. His former colleagues claim he’s just not good enough; Andrew says he’s been fired because he has AIDS. Determined to defend his professional reputation; Andrew hires fierce personal-injury attorney Joe to represent him as he sues his former firm for wrongful termination. Separated from Andrew by a deep social and cultural chasm, Joe is initially reluctant to take the case. For Andrew the battle is clear cut–he’s fighting for his reputation, his life and for justice. Joe, however, faces a different kind of struggle as he confronts his own fears and prejudices about homosexuals.

The Glass Slipper (1955)

Directed by Charles Walters, The villagers prepare for the return of Prince Charles, who was sent away to school when he was a child. As the villagers decorate the town square, a shy young woman named Ella offers to help by cleaning up, but they spurn her, calling her “Cinderella” because of her dirty face and clothes. Ella goes home and finds her beautiful but cruel stepsisters, Birdena and Serafina, primping for the prince’s arrival. Angered by their taunting, Ella goes to her favorite spot, She is soon joined by a kindly old woman, who draws her into conversation. Ella confides that on the day of her birth, a fortune teller told her mother that Ella would someday live in a palace. The strange woman dresses her up so she can attend the ball, but must run out at midnight. In her haste, she drops a single glass slipper. 

Madagascar (2005)

Fatal Desire (2006)

Directed by Ralph Hemecker, Based on a true story, A forty-something ex-policeman named Joe initiates an online relationship with twenty-something Tonya Sullivan. Conflicts arise after Tonya flies to Atlantic City to seduce Joe, and she reveals to him that she is married. Months into the relationship she told him she’s pregnant, she tells Joe she was abused by her wife-beating father, and is again by her husband Mark, He realizes paternity is uncertain, but stands by her, and after threats and insults from Mark, Joe flies to Pittsburgh, with his gun; from then on everything goes horribly wrong…

( On Jan. 29, 2001, the Genesse County Circuit Court sentenced Miller to life in prison for the conspiracy to murder and 54 to 81 years for second-degree murder. She is serving her term at the Robert Scott Correctional Facility in Plymouth, Michigan. She still maintains her innocence and has filed an appeal to the Michigan Court of Appeals.)

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011)

Directed by John Madden, British retirees who decide to “outsource” their retirement to less expensive and seemingly exotic India. Enticed by advertisements for the newly restored Marigold Hotel and bolstered with visions of a life of leisure, they arrive to find the palace a shell of its former self. Though the new environment is less luxurious than imagined, they are forever transformed by their shared experiences, Marigold Hotel nevertheless slowly begins to charm in unexpected ways, discovering that life and love can begin again when you let go of the past.

True Lies (1994)

Directed by James Cameron, Harry Tasker is a secret agent for the United States Government. The Nutty Professor (1996)

Directed by Tom Shadyac, Sherman Klump is an incredibly fat and good-hearted man. He is a college professor on the verge of a breakthrough in DNA restructuring when he meets an admirer of his, named Carla, who is a teacher new to Klump’s college. He is enamored of her, but is frustrated by his tremendous bulk. He then decides to test a formula on which he’s been working on himself. The special chemical that turns him into the slim but obnoxious Buddy Love and complications.

I Love You Phillip Morris (2009)

Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, Based on a true story, Steven Russell is married to Debbie, and a member of the local police force when a car accident provokes a dramatic reassessment of his life. Steven becomes open about his homosexuality and decides to live life to the fullest – even if it means breaking the law. Steve is bored with his bland lifestyle, He turns to cons and fraud as a means of shaking things up. Before long, Russell’s criminal antics have landed him behind bars, where he encounters the charismatic Phillip Morris. Smitten, Russell devotes his entire life to being with Morris regardless of the consequences – which could well include a life sentence.

( The end of the movie explains that the real-life Phillip Morris was released from jail in 2006, but Steven is still imprisoned, on 23-hour lockup, only having one free hour a day to shower and exercise).

Albert Nobbs (2011)

Directed by Rodrigo García, 19th century Dublin, Albert Nobbs is an eccentric man in the latter part of middle age. He works as a waiter in Morrison’s Hotel run by the stingy and controlling Marge. Albert is hard working and saves his money so that one day he will be able to carve out a better life for himself. to survive in late 19th century Ireland, where women aren’t encouraged to be independent. Posing as a man, so she can work as a butler in Dublin’s most posh hotel, Albert meets a handsome painter and looks to escape the lie she has been living.

Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)

Directed by Rupert Sanders, The ruthless Queen Ravenna has conquered several of kingdoms and plans to take over the entire continent. But she soon learns from her Magic Mirror that she will be overthrown by her stepdaughter Snow White, who will also surpass her as the “Fairest of Them All.” The the only way for Ravenna to remain in power is to consume Snow White’s heart and achieve immortality. When Snow White manages to escape into the Dark Forest, the Queen summons a Huntsman named Eric to kill the Princess. Eric, however, takes pity on her and teaches Snow White unique skills in the Art of war. Now, with the aid of several dwarves and her childhood love Prince William, Snow White begins a powerful revolution to kill her stepmother once and for all.

The Duchess (2008)

Directed by Saul Dibb, Based on a true story, Duchess of Devonshire, The romantic entanglements of Georgiana Cavendish, a beautiful and clever woman who becomes a celebrity of British high society when she marries the Duke of Devonshire and becomes consort to one of the most powerful men in England. Beloved for her trend-setting fashion designs as well as her political activism, Georgiana’s fire and wit make her a beloved figure everywhere but her own home, where her cold and distant husband’s control over her is stifling, soon sending her into the arms of a another man -an act that soon forces her to learn about the brutal difference in the rights afforded to 18th century men and women.

The Tourist (2010)

Directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, Revolves around Frank, an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Elise is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path. Frank meets a mysterious beauty who drags him into a dangerous world of intrigue and espionage while traveling through Europe. When Frank met Elise on the train, he thought it was a chance encounter. Now, the faster Frank and Elise run, the more intense their romance grows.
